Modeselektor feat. Nazizi & Abbas "Monkey Flip" Out Now

Invited by Goethe Institut Kenya in the summer of 2010 Modeselektor traveled to Nairobi to participate in an exceptional project called BLNRB. Various Berlin based electronic/dance-music artists were introduced to several musicians, singers, MCs from Kenya.

One of the results is the track „Monkey Flip" recorded with a true legend of Kenyas hip hop scene, MC Abbas, accompanied by the first lady of East-African Hip Hop Nazizi.

Nazizi is one of the most successful East-African singers.

Active since over a decade she has been touring not only
all of Africa, but also the US and Europe with her unique
Hip Hop / Reggea repertoire.

Abbas is a long standing artist in Kenyas vibrant
hip hop and reggea scene. He has been living in the UK
for a while, recorded with Arrested Development amongst others and is someone young musicians in Kenya look up to.
His last album „Mchanjama" was released end of 2009.

Modeselektor, Nazizi and Abbas met for the first time in summer 2010. In a spontaneous recording session at a hotel room in Nairobi "Monkey Flip" was recorded in one go.

Not less spontaneous the Boys Noize remix was delivered within a week.
